Bio
Embracing chaos, DestroyerMariko is a multidisciplinary creative working across both visual and sonic artforms. Based in Sydney, she was one of the earliest female singer-screamers to hit the local heavy scene, mixing soaring feminine melodies with aggressive brutal deathgrowls, a combination she now continues to push to its extremes in her solo industrial project. While her lyrics are deeply introspective, processing a lifetime of unique challenges and traumas, DestroyerMariko’s writing style is intentionally open and metaphorical, allowing for wider relatability amongst audiences facing their own struggles.
